Portrait of Hedyeh Nazarinia

About

I'm a senior Computer Science student and Associate Software Engineer Intern at NiCE. I enjoy building software that's intuitive and easy for people to use, and I care about clean UI and products that actually make sense. I also enjoy picking up new technologies and growing as an engineer along the way.

01

Software Engineering

Angular and TypeScript are where I spend most of my day, with backend development and AI-assisted workflows rounding out how I build.

02

Accessibility

I've implemented accessibility features and worked with WCAG standards in my role at NiCE. It's helped me grow as a front-end engineer.

03

Product Thinking

I'm interested in product thinking and I'm still learning how it shapes the technical decisions I make.

Dishbook

A full-stack recipe platform I built solo in Django. It was my first project owning both ends of the stack, from the database up to what a user actually sees.

  • Designed the data models, views, and URL routing that hold the app together end to end.
  • Built user authentication and recipe search from scratch.
  • Built the front end in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with no framework to lean on.

Snake

A Snake game I built with a partner in C# and Blazor, with real-time collision detection and live score tracking on an object-oriented architecture.

  • Built core gameplay, including movement, collision detection, and live scoring, on a modular, object-oriented architecture.
  • Implemented the Razor-based UI so it stayed responsive under real-time updates.
  • Split ownership with a partner and used Git to keep two people working on one codebase without stepping on each other.

Engineering Philosophy

Accessibility in practice.

I've worked with WCAG standards and built accessibility features into production interfaces at NiCE. It's made me a stronger front-end engineer.

Ship it, then question it.

Working on production software taught me to validate before I trust. That goes for my own code, and increasingly, for AI-generated code too.

Still learning product thinking.

I'm interested in more than just writing code that works. I'm learning to think about whether it solves the right problem for the person using it.
